Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1770 - $1820

• Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048 (Michigan nursing jobs)
• Unit: 3N - Medical Surgical/Cardiac Telemetry (54-bed cardiac unit)
• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30), every other weekend & holiday required
• Charting System: Cerner EMR
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Vaccination: COVID-19 & Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending accepted with licensure project participation)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending accepted)
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system
• Ability to float to qualified units or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• Completion of up to 8 hours of pre-start modules (self-reported)
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Cardiac Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, including heart failure, heart attack (STEMI/NSTEMI), stroke, arrhythmias, chest pain, and overflow medical patients
• Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry, cardiac drips (no titration), and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Administer blood products, perform central line care, manage feeding tubes, and provide wound care
• Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias; manage oxygen therapy (HFNC, CPAP/BIPAP, nasal cannula, face masks)
• Care for patients before and after cardiac procedures (angiogram, cardiac catheterization, surgery, hemodialysis, TAVR)
• Participate in rapid response teams and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, etc.)
• Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as required based on census and patient volume
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
