Shipping Clerk
Job Title: Shipping Technician
Location: Hudsonville,MI
Job Type: 6am-4:30pm
Pay: $19/hr
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping products accurately and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized shipping area. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package products for shipment according to customer and carrier specifications
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and documentation using shipping software and ERP systems
- Load and unload trucks, verify incoming and outgoing shipments, and inspect for accuracy or damage
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensure timely order fulfillment
- Track and record shipment data, including weights, dimensions, and tracking numbers
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with safety standards
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed (training provided if necessary)
- Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and related logistics tasks
- Help with machine operating and woodworking
- Measure and cut wood products to size
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1+ year of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred
- Familiarity with FedEx, UPS, or other carrier systems a plus
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
