Creative & Communications Manager
OVERVIEW
The role of the Creative & Communications Manager is to further Treetops Collective’s mission by overseeing and guiding the strategy, messaging, and creative direction for all communications, marketing, website, and public relations efforts. This role ensures that all external and internal facing content—visual, written, and digital—consistently reflects the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
The Creative & Communications Manager works closely with the Treetops Operations, Engagement, Executive, and Programs teams as a strategic and creative partner, and oversees the Engagement Coordinator, supporting integrated storytelling, brand cohesion, and publicity initiatives across platforms and audiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain organization-wide communications and creative strategies and calendar across all channels and in line with trending approaches.
- Steward consistent brand voice and visual identity across all communications, marketing, and storytelling
- Manage internal and external communications including email, social media, website, print, branded campaigns, and programs collateral
- Lead the creation of engaging content that connects with key audiences and drives measurable action
Content, Storytelling & Creative Production
- Collect and curate stories from programs, staff, and community members for marketing and short and long form storytelling initiatives
- Create graphics, emails, flyers, and other marketing materials in collaboration with Treetops staff
- Attend events to capture photos and video for marketing and social media collateral and to support organizational programming
- Coordinate website content and maintenance, ensuring information is accurate, current, and regularly updated
- Lead long-form storytelling and video production efforts, including planning and working with contractors to capture, edit, and publish content that deepens engagement and advances the organization’s narrative
Strategy, Analytics & Learning
- Develop and launch multi-channel and next-gen communications strategies to reach new and existing audiences across emerging platforms and formats.
- Track and report monthly on analytics and performance across communications channels; adjust strategy based on insights
- Build feedback loops that inform messaging, creative direction, and audience engagement strategies
Partnerships, PR & Community Engagement
- Initiate and maintain relationships with external partners and media contacts to support marketing and public relations efforts
- Build and manage a community of ambassadors to support partnerships and market sales, in collaboration with the Social Enterprise Manager
- Steward creative contractors as needed and launch and manage Communications Advisory Committee.
Leadership, Collaboration & Culture
- Mentor and support communications interns, fostering professional growth and skill development
- Maintain weekly checkins with the Engagement Director and Coordinator.
- Maintain regular check-ins with the Executive Director, Development Director, and Programs Team to ensure alignment and collaboration
- Uphold Treetops Collective’s values and actively contribute to a healthy, mission-aligned organizational culture
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Fluent in English
- Comfortable speaking and forming relationships with people from different backgrounds, warm demeanor and ability to connect personally
- Highly responsible and collaborative; able to work autonomously while being accountable for results
- Excellent written communication, both timely and on brand
- Proactive, innovative, and able to execute long-term vision in short-term projects
- Strategic, forward thinking, and flexible planning and organizational skills
- Strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
- Proven leadership capacity and experience leveraging relationships for impact
- Must maintain transportation, phone, and laptop computer to perform duties
- Belief in capacity to influence community change
