Billing Specialist needed for a non-profit organization in Hillsdale. This role will support financial operations and ensure accurate, compliant billing for grants, contracts, and various funding sources.

Billing Specialist Details:

• Temp-to-Hire position
• $17.00 to $18.00 / hour
• Full Time work available
• First Shift ( Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 03:30pm )

• Prepare and submit billings in alignment with contract terms and grant requirements.
• Review contracts for billing schedules, allowable costs, reporting needs, and payment terms.
• Reconcile billed amounts with budgets, supporting documents, and general ledger accounts.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
• Track contract balances to prevent overspending.
• Maintain detailed billing records for audits.
• Collaborate with program managers to confirm expenses and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and private funding regulations.
• Provide support during internal and external audits.

Billing Specialist Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of billing, accounts receivable, or grant/contract experience.
• Experience with government contracts or nonprofit funding preferred.
• Strong understanding of billing practices and contract compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadline
• HS Diploma/GED required.
