Senior Accountant
First National Bank of America is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the Accounting Department. This role is responsible for performing month-end processes, including posting accruals, prepaid expenses, and depreciation to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to provide an accurate presentation of monthly and annual financial reports. The Senior Accountant will prepare necessary entries to record financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner, including preparing monthly analysis/reconciliations of various accounts. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, time management and a high level of ownership
Responsibilities:
- Prepare audit work papers and supporting schedules for the annual and financial statement audits
- Perform overall reasonableness tests and other procedures necessary to verify data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly regulatory reporting.
- Contribute to gathering information for leadership and management for information or analysis.
- Assist in the preparation and payment of state and federal taxes.
- Support the annual profit plan process for projections of income and expenditures.
- Apply accounting principles and guidance to internal banking procedures to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Qualifications:
- 5+ years accounting experience
- Financial institution experience preferred
- External audit or tax experience a plus
- Knowledge of Great Plains and Jack Henry 20/20 or Silverlake preferred
- Must possess a desire to learn programs/processes
- Ability to build and sustain positive and effective relationships with others
