Job Title: Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist

Location: Battle Creek, MI

Job Type: Contract (18+ Weeks, with possibility of extension)

Work Setting: Onsite

Schedule:

• Monday & Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Tuesday & Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to support both clinical and administrative functions in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills, experience in patient care, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and room patients, ensuring a positive patient experience
• Take and record vital signs accurately
• Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture and specimen collection
• Conduct EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing
• Administer vaccines as directed
• Assist with front office duties including scheduling and answering phones
• Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems
• Provide general clinical and administrative support as needed
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient workflow

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship)
• Experience in Occupational Health preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
• Ability to manage both front and back office responsibilities

Certifications:

• CMA Certification required (preferred if not mandatory)
• BLS or CPR Certification required

Must-Have Skills:

• Phlebotomy / venipuncture
• EKG
• Point-of-care (POC) testing
• Patient scheduling and coordination
• Rooming patients and taking vitals
• Front and back-office experience
• EMR system proficiency
