Vendor relationship lead

The Vendor Relationship Lead role is critical in managing vendor partnerships to support the operational success of the data center campus, focusing on procurement, contract management, and performance oversight. The lead will develop and implement standardized processes for vendor selection, onboarding, and evaluation, ensuring alignment with Site Operations goals and data center requirements. By collaborating with stakeholders and SMEs, the role ensures that vendor services and equipment meet quality, cost, and performance expectations, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of data center operations.
Key responsibilities include negotiating and managing vendor contracts, auditing performance metrics, and leveraging CMMS data to track KPIs and optimize vendor relationships. The Vendor Relationship Lead will also provide training to Site Operations teams on vendor management processes and stay informed about industry trends to adopt innovative procurement and partnership strategies. These efforts will minimize risks, enhance vendor performance, and support the modernization of the data center infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage vendor relationships to support data center operations, ensuring seamless procurement, contract management, and performance oversight for services and equipment.
Collaborate with Site Operations teams and stakeholders to identify vendor needs, align vendor services with operational goals, and ensure high-quality delivery of goods and services.
Develop and maintain standardized processes for vendor selection, onboarding, and performance evaluation, leveraging tools such as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track vendor-related data.
Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with data center operational requirements.
Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to evaluate vendor capabilities and integrate new vendors or technologies to support data center modernization and operational efficiency.
Conduct regular audits of vendor performance metrics, including service level agreements (SLAs), to identify gaps, risks, or opportunities for improvement in vendor services.
Analyze vendor performance data within CMMS and other systems to track KPIs, assess service quality, and inform strategic vendor management decisions.
Administer training for Site Operations teams on vendor management processes and tools, ensuring effective collaboration with vendors to meet operational needs.
Stay abreast of industry trends in vendor management, procurement strategies, and data center technologies to adopt best practices and foster innovative vendor partnerships.
3+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, supply chain, or related roles, with a focus on contract management and performance oversight. 5+ years working in a critical facility or data center environment, with knowledge of operational vendor needs (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or IT equipment).Proven track record in developing and managing vendor relationships and performance evaluation processes.
Strong analytical skills to assess vendor performance data, track KPIs, and optimize vendor partnerships.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage vendor contracts and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Familiarity with CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo, ServiceNow) and industry-standard vendor management practices is highly desirable.
Experience with data center modernization and integration of new vendor technologies is a plus.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
