TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Kalamazoo, Michigan, 49007!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 Years in Step Down or PCU License: Valid Nursing License Certifications: BLS, OCN or ONS preferred, will accept one or the other Must-Have: Experience in oncology or chemotherapy administration. Experience with IV management and starting IVs. Description: This is a general medical unit that cares for step down and oncology patients. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for administering chemotherapy via IV. The nurse will monitor patient status and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for optimal patient care. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, with availability for the first two weeks of the assignment. Weekend shifts will be assigned by the manager. The nurse will have a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 to 1:6, with additional support staff as needed. Chemotherapy admissions may adjust assignment ratios. This role may also require floating to other medical-surgical areas to provide care. Candidates with oncology or chemotherapy experience are highly preferred. Completion of required certifications and ongoing education is expected. The unit supports several interdisciplinary services to enhance patient recovery and well-being.
