Job Description:

The CNC Machinist Operator – Set-Up fills the critical role of bringing designs to life in production. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) milling machines, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Experience with and the ability to run standard manual machinery, including but not limited to: mills, lathes, surface grinders, saws, etc.
• Ability to run a CNC mill, including setup and operation
• Ability to make custom parts to print from raw material to completion while holding tolerances to +/-.0001
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Maintenance on the CNC machines
• Vendor relationships/maintain tool crib

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Minimum 1-2 years in a CNC position that included setup and operation
• Minimum 1 -2 years in a machine shop/job shop environment
• Experience with HAAS mills preferred but not required
• Experience with SolidWorks / HSM Works preferred but not required
• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) or in process
• Currently enrolled in Career Tech for Machining, and/or planning on a career as a CNC Machinist
