OnSite Team Lead - Kalamazoo, MI
Job Description
The Team Lead, OnSite Operations is responsible for managing surgical support services and leading the OnSite team at assigned medical facility. This role ensures equipment readiness, supports operating room teams during procedures, and drives operational efficiency through leadership, collaboration, and performance monitoring. The Team Lead serves as the primary point of contact for the account and is accountable for team engagement, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Direct daily operations of the onsite team to ensure OR efficiency and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Lead Tier 1 and hospital huddles to align team activities and communicate priorities.
Manage charge sheets and billing processes for the account.
Partner with hospital stakeholders, cross-divisional sales teams, and internal departments to drive account productivity.
Monitor and apply performance metrics to identify and implement process improvements.
Provide in-service training and product training to clinical staff upon request.
Oversee onboarding and compliance requirements for new hires and team members.
Coordinate program management activities and support continuous improvement initiatives across regional accounts.
The OnSite Specialist provides in-room support for minimally invasive surgical (MIS) and related procedures, ensuring optimal performance of Stryker and third-party equipment. This role bridges clinical teams, SPD, and Stryker service lines to maintain smooth, high-quality OR operations.
Supports daily surgical readiness by managing instrumentation, soft supplies, and case cart staging for scheduled and add-on cases. Works closely with SPD, OR coordinators, and service line leaders to ensure procedural efficiency.
Set up Stryker towers, booms, lights, and integrated suite systems per surgeon preference.
Confirm equipment functionality and image routing prior to each procedure.
Adjust camera, monitor, and device settings intraoperatively.
Provide immediate troubleshooting of endoscopy and integration systems.
Manage post-procedure breakdown and staging of all Stryker equipment.
Clean/disinfect towers and components, restock consumables, and perform basic maintenance.
Educate OR and SPD staff on proper use and troubleshooting of Stryker products.
Support video conferencing, DICOM transfers, and EMR connectivity (where applicable).
Pick and stage surgical case carts using surgeon preference cards.
Document missing instruments and coordinate replenishment.
Ensure all supplies and instruments are available prior to procedure start.
Manage postoperative put-backs, restocking, and inventory accuracy.
Track and communicate rapid turnover and trauma case needs.
Support da Vinci or other specialized inventory processes, including RMA and par-level monitoring.
High School Diploma or equivalent
3+ years of professional experience (5+ years of experience if no degree)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
Demonstrate strong communication, organization, time management, analytical thinking, interpersonal interaction, and equipment problem-solving skills.
Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently; stands and walks for extended periods.
Near visual acuity (corrected), color vision, and manual dexterity.
Ability to observe and correct minute inconsistencies.
Professional appearance and adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
Associate or bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent certifications.
Operating Room experience with knowledge of anatomy and surgical procedures.
Stryker product experience.
Experience onboarding new employees and mentoring team members.
Familiarity with Joint Commission requirements and hospital compliance standards.
Experience in OR technical support or surgical services.
Familiarity with MIS procedures (laparoscopy, arthroscopy, cystoscopy, hysteroscopy, etc.).
Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with surgical supply chain or SPD workflows.
