About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Mobilize Michigan is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Field Canvassers. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience in grassroots organizing and civic engagement. You will be on the front lines, connecting directly with Michiganders to build a stronger, more engaged electorate.
This position requires no prior experience. We provide comprehensive training for all new team members!
Key Responsibilities:
As a Field Canvasser, you will be a vital part of our voter outreach programs. Your duties will encompass a wide range of grassroots activities, including:
- Door-to-Door Canvassing: Engaging in face-to-face conversations with community members to share information, listen to their concerns, and mobilize them to take action.
- Petition Circulation: Collecting signatures to place important issues on the ballot and allow voters to decide the laws that impact their communities.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience is a plus but none is required to apply.
- A strong passion for civic engagement and the mission of Mobilize Michigan to support progressive organizations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; enjoys talking with people from diverse backgrounds.
- A positive, coachable attitude and a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Basic comfort with technology, such as using a smartphone or tablet.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
