English Language Teacher in Gaines Township, MI

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring an  English (ESL) Teacher to provide in-person lessons to our client in  Gaines Township.

• Student: 1 adult (male) who's recently relocated to Michigan

• Location: Lessons are to be held at the student's home in Gaines Township, MI 49316 (Hanna Lake Ave SE and 60th St SE)

• Preferred start date: ASAP

Details

• Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons (12:00pm–4:00pm); Wednesday morning (8:00am–12:00pm)

• Lesson Frequency: Three times per week

• Lesson Duration: 2 hours per session

• Current language level: Intermediate (would like to be assessed by teacher)

• Native language: Spanish

• Student's language needs and goals: Achieve fluency in English for everyday communication and professional/business contexts; prepare for job interviews; develop confidence working and collaborating with others in English-speaking environments.
  
  
• Additional Information: Enjoys conversation practice within structured lessons and clear objectives. Strongly values practice outside lessons and varied learning methods; prefers not to learn through games. Interested in listening, pronunciation, slang, business language, job-related communication, and social interaction. His personal interests include music, design, marketing, movies, and meeting new people.

Responsibilities

• Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons

• Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes

• Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals

• Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Qualifications

• Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in the target language

• Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second language acquisition, or related field

• Minimum of two years of ESL teaching experience
