HOURLY WAGE RANGE: $13.32-$20.00

*This role is exclusively on-site , requiring daily commutes to the office. Therefore, candidates must reside in the Detroit/Metro-Detroit area before employment*

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to return the city's blighted and vacant properties to productive use. We utilize a variety of Sales programs to make homeownership and land purchases accessible to Detroiters. Plus, we take our commitment to revitalization one step further with our Compliance and Nuisance Abatement programs, requiring renovation and occupancy to improve neighborhoods, eliminate blight, and combat real estate speculation. The Detroit Land Bank Authority works directly with individual buyers, as well as Community Partner organizations and developers for projects big and small.

The Legal Office Support Clerk II performs a variety of clerical assignments in support of the Legal Team's business operations and exercises good judgment and decision making in day-to-day assignments as determined by established policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform standard clerical tasks, such as data entry, data reporting, and organizing and filing documents
  • Prepare and send high volume of mailings, as well as sort and distribute high volume of incoming mail
  • Handle outgoing and incoming calls, process incoming emails and voicemails
  • Photocopy, scan and fax documents
  • Perform additional duties as directed by Legal Department management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two (2) years of administrative support experience, or equivalent experience in an office setting
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least two (2) years of administrative support experience, or equivalent experience in an office setting
  • Knowledge of standard office principles and procedures, including office email and telephone etiquette
  • Intermediate skill in using general office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, etc.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Salesforce and Microsoft OneDrive experience, preferred
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and in written
  • Highly organized, ability to follow multi-step instructions, with a keen attention to detail
  • Must be a mission-driven individual with high personal integrity and a strong sense of public service to the residents of the City of Detroit
  • Ability to work well alone or as a member of a team in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Detroit residency, preferred

  • Ability to select and compile data for correspondence and reports
  • Ability to maintain supplies for work area
  • Ability to organize and coordinate the work of the department
  • Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality assurance
