Communications Manager, Instruments (HYBRID)
What you will do:
As our Communications Manager with the Instruments Division, you will be responsible for strengthening how Stryker engages employees, represents the organization externally and elevates senior leadership across the Surgical Technologies business and Customer Excellence & Transformation Enablement (CETE) teams. You will lead employee communications that drive alignment, connection and change readiness. You will deliver executive communications that amplify the voice and vision of senior leaders through strategic storytelling, thought leadership and communication counsel while supporting external affairs including reputation and issue/crisis response.
This is a hybrid role and hybrid is defined as the ability to come onsite for meetings as needed-which will equate to being onsite at least one week per month. This role will need to be onsite for meetings including both team and town hall meetings.
Foster and maintain strong partnerships with business unit and functional leaders, providing strategic communication counsel and ensuring message alignment across audiences, channels and initiatives.
Lead the development, planning and execution of communication strategies and plans that support business objectives, including strategic plans, organizational announcements, change initiatives business reviews, town halls, newsletters and sales meetings.
Create clear, engaging and relevant content for employee and leadership communications, including presentations, events, videos, articles, patient stories and other experiences.
Elevate senior leaders through thoughtful executive communications, crafting speeches, scripts, talking points and storytelling moments that amplify leadership priorities and brand voice.
Serve as a communications partner to business units by reviewing and refining content across functions and regions to ensure clarity, quality, alignment and consistency.
Support external affairs needs, including media inquiries, public affairs, reputation management and issues/crisis communication in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, including Marketing.
Strategize and execute key business unit events such as global town halls, people-manager calls, annual sales gatherings and communication needs related to M&A or organizational change.
Identify communication needs, opportunities and risks, proactively recommending strategies and leading execution from concept through delivery.
Ensure all communications reflect Stryker’s brand, culture and leadership expectations, maintaining a high bar for clarity, tone, accuracy and visual identity.
Measure communication effectiveness and refine approaches to enhance clarity, connection and impact.
Stay current on communication trends, tools and best practices, bringing forward new ideas that enhance communication quality and engagement.
What you need:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in any field required.
8+ years of professional work experience is needed for a qualified applicant.
4+ years of experience in a communications or marketing role.
4+ years of expert level experience utilizing PowerPoint.
Preferred:
Expertise in Marketo, SharePoint 365, MS Office, Zoom, Teams is preferred.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred
Demonstrated ability to condense, organize and convey complex information in a logical, visually pleasing, and user-friendly manner that is appealing to broad range of audiences
Excellent grammar, copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to deliver under tight deadlines and adapt quickly to change
Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and functions
Can be trusted to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information
Ability to present and speak comfortably in front of others
