Welder Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Welder Fitter for either the 1st shift (6am to 6pm) or the 2nd shift (6pm to 6am), Monday through Friday. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints to perform the initial fit-up of welded assemblies, communicating directly with engineering, and working with minimal supervision. Proficiency in operating forklifts and pendant-controlled overhead cranes is required.

• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, both detail and assembly.
• Use micrometers and precision measuring instruments.
• Operate overhead cranes up to 50-ton capacity.
• Operate forklifts and man lifts.
• Manually lift 20-25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Perform initial fit-up of welded assemblies using pre-cut steel plates.
• Communicate effectively with engineering as needed.

• 5 years of blueprint reading experience.
• 1-inch plate fitting and welding experience.
• 5 years of Flux Core/MIG welding experience.
• 5 years of fitting experience.

• Experience with heavy plate and structural welding.
• Ability to lay fillets and rods.
• Experience with MIG, flux core, fabrication, welding, and fitting.

The facility spans over 9 acres with over 100,000 square feet under the roof. It houses 34 overhead and jib cranes, with capacities ranging up to 100 tons in the assembly shop. The workspace includes a range of equipment, such as hydraulic presses, band saws, and CNC mills, providing a comprehensive environment for welding and fabrication.

This is a Permanent position based out of WATERFORD, MI.

The pay range for this position is $46000.00 - $60000.00/yr.

Direct Hire - medical, dental, vision after 90 days. PTO after 1 year.

This is a fully onsite position in WATERFORD,MI.

This position is anticipated to close on Feb 2, 2026.
