The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across St. Johns seeking Controllers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
• Manage the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
• Direct cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, operational performance, and profitability to identify areas for improvement.
• Coordinate and lead financial audits, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors.

Recommended Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Deep expertise in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead and manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
• Strong command of GAAP and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Demonstrated experience with ERP system implementations or major upgrades.
• Prior experience in a specific niche manufacturing industry (e.g., aerospace, medical devices).
• Involvement in M&A due diligence or post-acquisition integration activities.
