Psychiatrist 18 - Child and Adolescent Services (Westland)

The Staff Psychiatrist functions as a leader of the interdisciplinary treatment team in a child and adolescent psychiatric hospital. Said leadership is affected through the supervision and direction of the teams professional assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment, discharge planning, performance improvement and clinical programming activities. In order to provide continuity of high-quality care, staff psychiatrists also share on-call responsibilities.

The preferred and appointed candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing.

Education
Possession of a medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.

Experience
Completion of a psychiatric residency program and one year of experience as a psychiatrist in a mental health, clinic, program, or correctional facility.
Possession of a license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery in Michigan.
Some positions require possession of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology general requirements for certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
