Job Title: Supercomputing Operator I
Location-Type: Onsite - Cheyenne, WY (occasional travel to Boulder facility for meetings)
Start Date: ASAP (2 weeks from verbal offer)
Duration: Contract-to-Hire, 6 months with intent to convert
Compensation Range: $27-$28/hr

Job Description:
This role supports the client's supercomputing operations by monitoring systems, managing data center activities, and delivering responsive technical support to internal customers across the organization.
Job Summary
Monitor site networks, systems, and services across multiple locations, including remote monitoring of off-site infrastructure
Review and manage support tickets, handling call center activities including customer, call-out, and vendor communications
Install servers and other equipment on the computer room floor following established procedures
Maintain Data Center Information Management records covering asset inventory, network, and power systems
Process, document, and communicate change control activities in accordance with team standards
Develop and maintain documentation of procedures and activities performed
Participate in rotating 10-hour shifts (Monday-Friday) and contribute to an on-call rotation approximately once every 6 weeks
Minimum Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in a professional IT role
Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware in a server or high-performance computing environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support internal customer relationships
Consistent employment history, with preference for candidates who have demonstrated longevity in prior roles
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in a relevant technical discipline
Familiarity with Linux distributions such as CentOS, Red Hat, or Ubuntu
Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL
Ability to write and troubleshoot scripts in shell environments such as bash or tcsh
