Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep and preventive maintenance of baking equipment and conveyor systems. You will work with various machinery including mixers, extruders, refrigeration units, proofers, conveyors, boilers, and silos. Your duties will include replacing, rotating, inspecting, and changing parts of industrial machines, connecting power to machines, installing motors, and rewiring motors. You will also read blueprints and schematics, move machinery using hoists and dollies, perform welding on steel and aluminum materials, run conduit and electrical wiring to new industrial machines, and engage in fabrication tasks using a drill press.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on baking equipment and conveyor systems.
• Work with mixing, extruders, refrigeration, proofer, conveyors, boilers, and silos.
• Replace, rotate, inspect, and change parts of industrial machines.
• Connect power to machines, install motors, and rewire motors.
• Read blueprints and schematics.
• Move machinery and equipment using hoists and dollies.
• Perform welding on steel and aluminum materials.
• Run conduit and electrical wiring to new industrial machines.
• Engage in fabrication using a drill press, cutting out holes, and making parts.

Essential Skills

• Experience in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of automated equipment.
• Experience with assembly equipment such as conveyors and building industrial equipment.
• Experience in rebuilding 3-phase motors.
• Ability to replace motors, gears, and pumps on industrial machinery.
• Experience in troubleshooting industrial machines and PLCs, including drives.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Installing conduit and electrical wiring.
• Background in the food and beverage industry.
• Possession of personal hand tools (power tools will be provided).

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and can be warm due to the industrial ovens. The plant is typically 10-20 degrees warmer than outside. The team operates in shifts with each having one supervisor and three technicians. Employees work four days a week and one day every other weekend, earning time and a half for hours exceeding 12 in a day or 40 in a week. The facility is family-owned with a long history in the food industry, offering stability and a sense of community.

This is a Permanent position based out of Plymouth, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $69264.00 - $72384.00/yr.
