Yard Logistics Manager

The Yard Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all materials, plants, and logistical operations that support the landscape construction and maintenance teams. This role ensures the yard is organized, jobs are prepared with the right materials, and that all warranty and property-related issues are addressed promptly. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled at balancing organization with field support.

Key Responsibilities of a Yard Logistics Manager

• Manage inventory of plants, trees, aggregate, and all bulk materials.
• Monitor and maintain plant health, including coordinating watering, fertilizing, and pest/disease management.

Job Preparation & Support

• Pull and stage plants and materials for scheduled jobs.
• Visit properties ahead of scheduling meetings to confirm readiness for install.
• Ensure crews have the right tools, plants, and materials before departure.

Logistics & Yard Management

• Coordinate deliveries and pickups of materials, plants, and equipment.
• Maintain safe, organized, and efficient yard operations.
• Oversee proper storage and rotation of materials.

Quality & Follow-Up

• Address warranty issues following job completion, including plant replacements/repairs.
• Report, document, and coordinate repairs for any property damage caused during jobs.
• Communicate effectively with managers and crews regarding resolutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, horticulture, or nursery operations preferred.
• Strong plant identification and plant health knowledge.
• Ability to operate equipment (forklift, skid steer, trailers, etc.) preferred.
• CDL required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Compensation for a Yard Logistics Manager

Pay: $25 to $30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
