Manufacturing Quality Engineer

• Contract Duration: 18 months - Estimated to end: 5/2027 ( Internal hire possibilities)

• Location : 100% ONSITE - Portage, Michigan (49002)

• Type : W2 contract (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY)

• Work Authorization: Must be currently in the United States with active employment authorization documents without CURRENT sponsorship transfer requirements. Sponsorship is not available now or in the future for this role.

• Pay: Negotiable depending on direct-related experience up to $35 - $40 an hour

Job Summary:

• This role is onsite - 5 days a week, about 60% of the time will be spent on the production floor, day to day includes production support, monitoring non-conformance, change control and technical writing.

• This role will provide direct support to the manufacturing lines through development and implementation of methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed.

Role responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and trending production defects and leading projects to resolve top defects.

• Identifying, containing, and correcting nonconformances originating from the manufacturing area.

• Coaching cross functional team on QMS requirements as it relates to manufacturing facility.

• When appropriate, designs and installs testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates.

• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to solve problems in a high stress situation

• Possess attention to detail

• Eagerness to assist internal and external customers

• Manage projects in a timely manner

Required degree(s):

• BS in Engineering is required; will consider a candidate with an AS in Engineering.

• 2 - 4 years related experience (can include related internships)

• Experience with GD&T and Statistical Analysis Capability, highly desirable

• Ability to conduct and document technical investigation
