About the Role:
The Production Janitor Team Lead plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient manufacturing environment at RLS Brownstown. This position is responsible for leading a team of janitorial staff to ensure all production areas meet stringent cleanliness and safety standards, directly supporting uninterrupted manufacturing operations. The Team Lead will coordinate daily cleaning schedules, monitor team performance, and implement best practices to optimize workflow and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations. Additionally, this role involves training new team members, managing supplies and equipment, and collaborating with production supervisors to address any facility-related concerns promptly. Ultimately, the Production Janitor Team Lead ensures that the manufacturing environment promotes productivity, safety, and quality standards essential to the company’s success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience managing a team.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment operation.
- Ability to understand and follow safety regulations and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in industrial cleaning or facility maintenance.
- Experience with OSHA standards and compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in scheduling and inventory management software.
- Ability to train and develop team members effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the janitorial team to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across all production areas.
- Develop and implement daily and weekly cleaning schedules to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate janitorial staff to uphold high standards of performance and safety compliance.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and safety personnel to identify and resolve facility-related issues promptly.
- Conduct regular inspections of production areas to ensure adherence to cleanliness and safety protocols.
- Report on team performance, maintenance needs, and any incidents or hazards observed during shifts.
