  • General Description

    • Sales Strategy & Development: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies for the target market, often focusing on selected OEM (in this specific case, experience with Stellantis is a requirement, experience with Ford a plus). This involves identifying new business opportunities by analyzing market trends and competitor activities. The Director works with Product Management and Engineering to tailor solutions based on customer feedback and market demands.
    • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers at the highest levels. This includes understanding their business objectives and needs to better serve them.
    • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a sales team, setting targets, monitoring performance, and fostering accountability. This may involve hiring, training, and coaching sales personnel.
    • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure sales performance, analyze sales data to identify trends, and prepare regular reports for upper management.
    • Market Analysis & Business Development: Conduct market research, analyze competitor activities, and identify opportunities for growth, especially outside traditional automotive business.
    • Negotiation & Proposal Management: Negotiate sales and pricing issues, manage the quotation process, and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Collaboration: Partner with other departments, such as product development, and finance, to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.

    Qualifications

    • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is typically required, with an MBA often preferred.
    • Experience: 12-15 years progressive sales leadership experience within the automotive industry, particularly with experience in automotive interiors or exteriors. Proven success in developing relationships with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers is essential.
    • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills are necessary, along with strong analytical and organizational abilities. Technical knowledge of automotive interiors and exteriors is a strong asset. Proficiency with CRM systems and other sales tools is also required.
    • German speaking a plus
