Salary Range: $57,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional inspection of first article parts against engineering specifications.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to identify critical features.
• Utilize precision measurement equipment, including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and various gauges.
• Verify material certifications, special process compliance, and finish requirements.
• Generate detailed First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 or customer standards.
• Document all inspection results accurately, including non-conformances and deviations.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve inspection discrepancies.
• Maintain and troubleshoot inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Expertise in operating a diverse range of precision measurement equipment, including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and reporting (e.g., AS9102).
• Solid knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and quality control methodologies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation or programming.
• Advanced understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience with 3D CAD software for model-based inspection.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
• Knowledge of metrology lab equipment calibration processes.
