POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Senior Web Developer is the primary web developer; gathering functional requirements and translating them into simple but effective web (and/or mobile) applications; while utilizing defined platforms and methods. Designs and develops web user interfaces to core backend systems and databases like the ERP system, or e-commerce system. Develops new websites, and maintains websites on existing platforms. Works closely with the Director, IT leads and the Development Team members; partners with web and mobile stakeholders. Has a strong understanding of artificial intelligence, including working knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and generative AI applications. Experience in integrating AI-driven solutions into web applications is strongly preferred.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

• Develops and delivers full stack web applications across the entire application life cycle including: concept, design, code, test, deploy to production web sites, and post implementation support.
• Participates with IT Leads and Developer Team on web architecture design, and data integration issues.
• Conducts code reviews of peers and junior or intermediate developer’s work (both front-end and back-end applications).
• Works with Manager and Developer Team to create and maintain a robust source code and version change control process, and to develop and use Agile methods.
• Works with outside developers, UI designers, and stakeholders to realize the desired web applications. Owns and supports the application after outside resources roll off the project.
• Actively participates in the migration of legacy systems and databases to approved web technology platforms.
• Creates unit testing and debugging of custom software solutions.
• Develops exception handling and error notification in the software to notify business stakeholders of exceptions that could affect transaction accuracy or completion. Performs test scenarios, and regression testing as assigned to ensure software quality.
• Resolves assigned support calls; follows ITIL helpdesk processes.
• Prioritizes work to ensure both critical tasks and project work are completed.
• Develops ERP or other core interfaces via web services and API.
• Creates compelling web and mobile user interfaces and experiences.
• Optimizes performance of web and mobile apps.
• Supports Intranet, Internet, and Extranet websites.
• Develops and implements AI-powered features and applications, such as chatbots, recommendation systems, and data analytics driven by generative AI.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

• Remains current and knowledgeable to IT industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of innovation, and business process improvement.
• Assists the efforts of project managers or Lead personnel to ensure project success.
• Where appropriate, provide technical expertise to the analysis, design, development, and implementation of IT systems.
• Any other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree with a major in CIS, or Computer Science.
• Work Experience: Minimum requirement of 5+ years full stack development experience with preference going to an individual with proven web development skills, Agile software development, and database development experience.
• Other combinations of education and work experience considered.
• Web development in .Net, C#, or LAMP, or MEAN. Experience with a CMS a plus.
• Good communication and very good problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated.
• A working knowledge of IIS/APACHE, Windows/Linux, SQL server or another database.
• Knowledge of web security, Active Directory, and MS Office.
• Experience or familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or LangChain.
• Familiarity with cloud APIs and platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
