As a Pharmacy Technician 2, you will work closely with prescription drugs, primarily focusing on dispensing medications into bottles and packages as a fulfillment technician. Your role will involve standing throughout the day at your station, printing labels from the system, selecting drugs from coolers and shelves, labeling and organizing them into bins, and placing them on conveyor lines. Once a patient's order is prepared, it is sent down the line to the pharmacist for verification before proceeding to the shipping team for delivery preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing medications and supplies.

• Arrange work activities to meet the pharmaceutical needs of patients.

• Clean equipment and maintain temperature logs in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.

• Check medication and supply inventory for expired products, remove them from inventory, and document them in the Expiring Medication log book.

• Assist with full inventory and cycle counts.

• Help the inventory team organize newly received inventory in the appropriate pharmacy location.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Basic level PC skills, including using a mouse, starting and closing programs, and saving files.

• Basic skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.

• Experience entering data into databases like Microsoft Access.

• Basic keyboarding skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ideally, 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician filling medications.

• Pharmacy Technician License or Certification preferred unless required by state.

• Must have CPHT certification and a minimum of an externship in a pharmacy.

• Preferred retail pharmacy experience.

Work Environment

You will work in a clean, organized pharmacy and shipping department with a team of 20 people, including pharmacists and fulfillment technicians. The area is open yet separated from other pharmacy techs and the insurance verification team by a glass wall. The space is equipped with multiple racks and storage units for medications and supplies. You must be able to work flexible shifts between 8 AM and 8 PM, with current hours being Monday-Wednesday from 11 AM to 8 PM, Thursday from 9 AM to 8 PM, and Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM, including a one-hour lunch break.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CANTON, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
