Salary Range: $57,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for raw materials and outsourced services.
• Develop comprehensive and competitive cost proposals for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to refine estimates and ensure accuracy.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or delivery.
• Maintain and update a database of cost information, supplier pricing, and historical data.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in estimating or a related costing role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills for accurate cost analysis.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, and specialized estimating software.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, material costs, labor rates, and overhead structures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for detailed material take-offs.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Familiarity with advanced data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for cost trend analysis.
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or relevant industry certification.
