Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Shift: 1st Shift

Pay: Up to $30/hr. based on experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain a fleet of heavy-duty construction equipment. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs both in the shop and in the field, and ensuring equipment reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy construction equipment
• Diagnose and repair engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and related components
• Utilize computer-based diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues
• Complete repairs both on-site and in the shop as needed
• Follow all safety protocols to protect employees and equipment
• Accurately document services, repairs, and maintenance records
• Provide after-hours or emergency support when required to minimize downtime

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy construction equipment
• Experience using diagnostic software and tools
• Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment components
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Willingness to work overtime as needed

Schedule:
