Cardiac Surgical Technologist Job Details

• Location: Detroit, MI 48236 (Michigan healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Hospital – Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• Shifts: Flexible scheduling: 5x8s, 4x10s, or 3x12s, all starting at 6:00 AM
• Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed)
• Call: 24 hours of call per month plus one weekend per month
• Employment Type: Travel Surgical Technologist job

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital cardiac OR (CVOR) setting
• Cardiac scrub experience required, including CABG procedures
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Cardiac OR Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Prepare and care for pre-operative cardiac surgery patients
• Perform technical duties in the Cardiac Operating Room, including scrubbing for CABG and other cardiac procedures
• Maintain a sterile environment and ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are ready and functioning
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and OR staff to deliver optimal patient care
• Participate in on-call rotation and weekend coverage as required
