Advanced Bookkeeper

Starting at $25/hour (based on experience)
Full-time | 40+ hours/week

About the Role

The Security Group is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage accounting operations across several business entities. This is a hands-on role where your accuracy and financial insight will make a direct impact. What You’ll Do

• Accounts Payable – Enter and pay vendor invoices via ACH, check, or credit card

• Accounts Receivable – Monitor AR aging, send reminders, process payments

• Tax Reporting – Prepare and run monthly sales/use tax reports

• Financial Reporting – Assist in preparing monthly billing reports and financial statements

• Expense Management – Review employee reimbursements via Expensify

• Document Handling – Download vendor docs from shared inboxes, scan customer checks

• Reconciliation – Perform monthly reconciliations for payables, receivables, loans, and intercompany accounts

• Month-End Close – Support general ledger entries and closing activities

• Misc. Accounting Tasks – Mail checks, prepare AP aging reports, track seasonal tax items

• Year-End Support – Help prepare for CPA audits and year-end reporting

What You Bring

• ✅ 3+ years of bookkeeping experience

• ✅ Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online)

• ✅ Strong Excel and general computer skills

• ✅ Detail-oriented with excellent organization and follow-through

• ✅ Experience with multi-entity accounting and financial statement prep preferred

• ✅ Familiarity with sales/use tax filings is a bonus
