Interventional Radiology Technologist Job Details
- Location: Detroit, Michigan (48202) – Michigan healthcare jobs
- Facility: Hospital – Interventional Radiology Unit
- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens – 13 weeks
- Start Date: August 25, 2025
- End Date: November 22, 2025
- Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed)
- Shift: Five 8-hour shifts per week (8:00am – 4:30pm); occasional four 10-hour shift weeks may be available
- Call Schedule: One weekend every three months and one weekday night every three weeks (subject to staffing needs)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2500 - $2560
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Experience in a Trauma Level 1 hospital setting required
- Cath Lab experience required
- Active BLS certification
- ARRT certification (with advanced registry in Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV))
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Additional ARRT specialization certifications highly preferred
- Commitment to ongoing continuing medical education
- Explain interventional radiology procedures to patients and prepare them for exams
- Review and obtain patient medical history
- Prepare and administer contrast media, medications, and IV solutions
- Set up and operate sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment
- Assist Radiologist with complex diagnostic and invasive procedures
- Monitor and assess patient condition before, during, and after procedures
- Ensure adequate supplies and maintain inventory
- Operate imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Assist with training and onboarding of new technologists and students
- Demonstrate radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Resolve imaging exceptions and ensure accurate image delivery to PACS
- Complete study documentation in the Radiology Information System
- Perform Quality Assurance procedures and maintain detailed records
- Utilize independent judgment in imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices
