Auburn Hills, MI (On-site)
Contract to Direct | Full Time
PTO + Benefits begin on day 1
$35-$45 per hour
A manufacturing facility in Auburn Hills is seeking a hands-on Controls Technician for a 2nd shift opportunity. The Controls Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of production equipment including robotics, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor systems. This is a full-time opportunity with strong potential for direct hire.
As a Controls Technician , you will:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment using HMI/PLC systems.
- Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
- Work with robots, assembly cells, and conveyor systems.
- Utilize robotic and PLC programming experience for diagnostics and repair.
- Respond to last-minute and required overtime as needed.
- Bring and use your own set of tools.
The ideal Controls Technician will have:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs — or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
- Experience with Fanuc and/or ABB robotics, Siemens Step 5 / Step 7, and vision inspection systems (preferred).
- A proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
