Business Development Manager
Join a leading provider of commercial landscaping, lawn care, irrigation, snow management, and property enhancement services as a Business Development Manager. In this pivotal role, you will drive profitable revenue growth by acquiring new clients, expanding existing customer relationships, and developing strategic market opportunities. As the face of the company in the marketplace, you will build and nurture relationships with property managers, facility managers, municipalities, HOAs, contractors, and commercial property owners. This position also leads the Account Manager Team, collaborating closely with operations and leadership to deliver exceptional service and achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in commercial landscape maintenance, irrigation, enhancement, and snow management within target markets.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified prospects through networking, referrals, industry associations, and community involvement.
- Conduct property assessments and client needs analysis to tailor service offerings.
- Prepare proposals, estimates, and presentations for prospective clients.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements to secure new business.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
- Collaborate with Account Managers and Operations teams to identify upsell opportunities and expand services within existing accounts.
- Support contract renewals, retention efforts, and participate in customer review meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including property managers, facility managers, HOA boards, municipal officials, commercial real estate firms, general contractors, and developers.
- Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends to identify emerging market opportunities and provide market intelligence to leadership.
- Participate in industry trade shows and networking events to enhance company visibility and generate leads.
- Coordinate with Operations, Estimators, Branch Managers, and Production Teams to ensure seamless handoff and delivery of sold projects and maintenance contracts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Landscape Management, Horticulture, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably in landscape, lawn care, green industry, construction, or facilities management.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Knowledge of commercial landscaping, lawn maintenance operations, irrigation systems, enhancement and installation projects, and snow management services.
- Experience with CRM software and financial/margin analysis.
- Strong skills in proposal and contract development, presentation, and negotiation.
- Ability to drive to customer locations, walk commercial properties and job sites, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to attend occasional evening networking and customer events.
