Salary Range: $83,000 - $128,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test embedded hardware and firmware for manufacturing equipment and production lines.
• Integrate embedded systems with industrial automation platforms, sensors, and factory IT infrastructure.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex embedded system issues on the production floor to minimize downtime.
• Optimize existing embedded systems for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency in high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Develop and maintain robust firmware for microcontrollers and other embedded processors used in manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D teams to define system requirements and facilitate seamless productization.
• Ensure embedded system designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control protocols.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development on microcontrollers.
• Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and bare-metal programming.
• Strong hardware debugging skills using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, EtherCAT) and sensor interfacing.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets for component selection and troubleshooting.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, OPC UA, CAN).
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles.
• Understanding of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 13849) for industrial applications.
• Experience integrating embedded systems with PLC/SCADA or other industrial automation platforms.
• Knowledge of manufacturing test strategies and automated test equipment (ATE).
