Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding procedures and parameters for various materials and joint configurations.
• Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of welding equipment and consumables.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and customer specifications.
• Conduct root cause analysis of welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Train and qualify welding personnel to ensure adherence to procedures and quality standards.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of products.
• Implement and monitor quality control measures for all welding operations.
• Research and evaluate new welding technologies and processes to improve efficiency and quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in welding process selection, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW) and their applications.
• Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO) and their application in manufacturing.
• Experience with welding inspection techniques and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Proficiency in CAD software for weldment design and simulation.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with automated welding processes (e.g., robotic, GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG)
• - Proficiency in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation
• - Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• - Knowledge of advanced materials and their weldability characteristics
• - Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CWI, CWE)
