Role Summary 40k – 75k - Sterling Heights, MI - illinois

The OSP Field Supervisor is booting-on-the-ground quality control and contractor oversight role in their assigned build market. Daily walkouts on aerial fiber placement (poles, splice points) and underground placement (conduit, handholes). Approves unitized work. Manages OSP Construction Tracker. Monitors work-order budgets. Investigates utility strikes within 24 hours and arranges contractor retraining or termination. Run weekly contractor safety and quality audits. Acts as Metronet's face in the neighborhood for community complaints


Responsibilities


The OSP Field Supervisor serves as Metronet's boots-on-the-ground quality control and contractor oversight in assigned build markets. Responsibilities include:

• Conducting daily walkouts on aerial and underground fiber placement.
• Approving unitized work and managing the OSP Construction Tracker.
• Monitoring work-order budgets.
• Investigating utility strikes within 24 hours and arranging contractor retraining or termination.
• Running weekly contractor safety and quality audits.
• Acting as Metronet's representative for community complaints.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years OSP fiber construction or inspection experience (2–3 years acceptable with strong crew count).
• Preferred range: 5–10 years.
• Strong bias toward contractor-side backgrounds (fiber construction contractors or inspection consultancies).
• HS Diploma/GED minimum; field certifications preferred.
• OSHA 30, CDL, First Aid/CPR, heavy equipment certifications are advantageous but not required.
