The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across DeWitt seeking Buyers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and quality.
• Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery to meet production demands.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning to prevent stockouts or overstock.
• Identify and implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or supply.
• Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation and issue resolution.
• Ensure all procured materials comply with quality standards and specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of direct purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchasing, inventory, and supplier management.
• Demonstrated strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills with a focus on cost reduction.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with international sourcing, import/export regulations, and global logistics.
• Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM) or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, including supplier portal management.
