Driver education instructor

Job Summary
We are seeking Michigan Certified Driving Instructors to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching students how to operate vehicles safely and effectively, ensuring they gain the necessary skills and confidence to become responsible licensed drivers. This role requires a passion for teaching, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively.

Duties

• Conduct Segment 1 and Segment 2 classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training sessions for students of varying skill levels.
• Develop lesson plans that meet state requirements and cater to individual student needs.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their driving skills.
• Maintain accurate student attendance, progress records, and a safe learning environment by adhering to all safety protocols during driving lessons.
• Manage classroom activities, ensuring engagement and participation from all students.
• Stay updated on traffic laws, regulations, and best practices in driver education.
• Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding progress and areas for improvement.

Skills

• Proficient in Driving , with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong Teaching abilities, with experience in Adult education preferred.
• Excellent Classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning environment.
• Prior Classroom experience is beneficial, particularly in working with diverse groups of students.
• Proven ability to work effectively with students, demonstrating patience and understanding.

Qualifications

No more than 2 license denials, suspensions, or revocations in the last 5 years.

Availability in evenings and weekends

No convictions resulting in 4 or more points within the last 5 years.

Current Michigan Driver Education Instructor Certification

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
