Interventional Radiology Technologist Job Details

• Employment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Interventional Radiology Unit
• Location: South Bend, Indiana (46601)
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 5x8-hour days (07:00 – 15:30); On-call hours: 08:00 – 16:30
• Call Requirements: Every 3rd or 4th weekend and 1 day per week; 1 full week of call during the 7th week
• Weekend/Holiday: On-call weekends only; possible holiday coverage if assignment overlaps Thanksgiving
• Floating: May float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals based on volume/census
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Daily Census: 10–20 patients
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Provided – Light Blue

Interventional Radiology Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in Interventional Radiology (required)
• ARRT (R) certification
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Fluoro Permit
• Active Indiana state license or compact license (must be active by start date)
• Experience with GE and Siemens Fluoro rooms preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• Ability to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start modules
• First-time travelers not accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in a variety of interventional radiology procedures, including vascular, neurovascular, trauma, and body IR
• Operate and maintain equipment in GE and Siemens Fluoro rooms
• Perform angiography, stent placement, thrombectomy, embolization, endografts, and neurovascular interventions
• Monitor patients and maintain sterile field during procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response
• Document procedures and patient care using Cerner EMR
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide coverage as scheduled
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols
