The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Rockford that are seeking Tool Room Supervisors. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery of tools and equipment.
• Manage and maintain the inventory of tools, dies, fixtures, and other manufacturing aids, implementing robust tracking and reordering systems.
• Supervise and mentor tool room personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures and best practices within the tool room to ensure a secure working environment.
• Coordinate with production and engineering departments to understand tooling needs, troubleshoot issues, and support new product development.
• Schedule and oversee the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all tool room equipment and machinery.
• Develop and manage the tool room budget, controlling costs and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Maintain detailed records of tool usage, maintenance, and repair history for quality control and cost analysis.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in a tool room or similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with inventory management and control systems.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and standards.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• - Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
• - Certified forklift operator or experience managing forklift operations.
