The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Histotechnologist to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be a critical partner in patient care, ensuring precise preparation of dermatological tissue specimens for Mohs surgery. Your expertise will directly impact surgical outcomes and patient well-being, making your work both technically challenging and deeply meaningful.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, process, embed, cut, and stain dermatological specimens, including frozen sections for Mohs micrographic surgery.
• Ensure timely and accurate slide preparation for evaluation by Mohs surgeons.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring strict adherence to quality control and regulatory standards.
• Accurately document specimen handling and laboratory processes.
• Collaborate closely with dermatologists and surgical staff to ensure seamless clinical and surgical workflows.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend improvements in lab processes.
• Stay current on best practices and advancements in histotechnology and dermatopathology through continuing education.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Histotechnology or related field required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• ASCP Certification (HT or HTL) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of recent laboratory experience; dermatology or Mohs surgery background strongly valued.
• Demonstrated proficiency in microtomy, tissue processing, and staining techniques.
• Familiarity with immunohistochemistry and advanced staining is a plus.
• High attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety standards.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
