Controls Engineer
Job Title: Controls Engineer IIJob Description
The Controls Engineer II will lead portions of design and commissioning activities, troubleshoot complex automation issues, and contribute to project success through hands-on technical expertise and team leadership.
Responsibilities

Lead design and commissioning activities for automation projects.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues.

Contribute to project success through technical expertise and leadership.

Support a small team of approximately 5 engineers.

Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports.
Essential Skills

PLC programming

Hardware and panel design
-
HMI programming
-
VFD, Servo, and Drive Controllers expertise

Proficiency in MS Office
-
Customer-facing professionalism in both normal and high-stress situations
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Exposure to Legacy PLC5 (hardware, logic, HMI)

Background in automotive controls
-
Flexibility for changing schedules or work times
Work Environment
This position operates in a hybrid environment with approximately 50% of the time in the office, 30% at local customer sites, and 20% working from home. Expect overtime, with the team currently working around 55 hours per week, increasing to 60-70 hours per week when in the field. All travel is local to the Detroit area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
