Ultrasound Technologist Job Details

• Location: Southfield Campus, Southfield, MI 48075 (Detroit metro area)
• Employment Type: Travel healthcare contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour night shifts (5 shifts/week)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Start Date: September 1, 2025
• End Date: December 6, 2025

Ultrasound Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a hospital setting
• Proficient in general and vascular ultrasound (abdomen and pelvis required)
• RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification required
• RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or American Red Cross
• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's/Technical degree within 6 months of hire

Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to examine tissue and body structures for clinical evaluation
• Set up and adjust imaging equipment; manually maneuver transducers for optimal imaging
• Implement safety protocols and perform quality control procedures in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Conduct routine and complex sonographic studies; assist in various imaging and interventional procedures
• Identify significant anatomical structures, artifacts, pathology, and recognize equipment limitations
• Ensure ultrasound equipment is functioning properly and promptly report any technical issues
• Submit high-quality diagnostic images and accurate documentation to PACS with correct patient information
• Maintain a clean, organized ultrasound department, including procedure rooms and storage areas
• Comply with all regulatory agency and hospital requirements for clinical imaging professionals
