Job Summary
We are seeking a Team Lead for our Pharmacokinetics & Acutes department in our Mattawan, MI l ocation.
A Team Lead serves as lead/primary technician within functional areas, provides leadership, technical guidance, serves as a mentor to less experienced staff, and assists management in oversight, daily supervision, and daily scheduling of technical personnel. The individual in this role actively promotes teamwork in all aspects of daily activities and performs management support-related activites up to half of their scheduled time.
The pay for this position is $25.50/hr USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform technical functions, focusing on critical functions and days, ability to function as senior technician in functional area.
- Assist/provide input to supervisor/manager regarding personnel management activities such as, but not limited to: training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance.
- Promote teamwork within the department and between other departments.
- Collaborate with other team leads, project leads and supervisors to balance workload across teams.
- Function as point person on weekends for multiple groups to provide oversight and help troubleshoot any potential issues.
- Ensure accurate, high-quality work, and adherence to pertinent departmental policies, practices and procedures (SOPs, safety procedures and biosafety protocols) through regular observation and oversight of technical functions.
- Assist supervisor to prioritize workload of assigned group; ensure schedule is prepared daily, accurately reflecting group and laboratory tasks and workload.
- Assist in the interview and selection of qualified non-exempt personnel.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and delivery of departmental training programs.
- Assist in the maintenance and communication of departmental systems and SOPs.
- Serve as a model as it relates to effective time management, positive interactions, communication, and utilization of resources. Provide leadership and motivation to departmental personnel.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D) required.
- Experience: 2 years technical expereince in functional area preferred.
- Demonstrated internal experience commensurate at a Technician 4 (or equivalent) or above; or Technician 3 (or equivalent) or above with PK & Acutes experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
- Certification/Licensure: None
- Other: Good communication, time management and leadership skills
