What You'll Do:

As an MEC Fiber Installer, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing high-speed fiber optic internet in customers' homes. You'll use your excellent customer service skills to answer questions about our internet and phone services, provide product training, splice and maintain fiber optic cables, and troubleshoot live networks.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: 4+ years of experience with fiber-to-the-home or similar broadband installation and maintenance.

To Be Successful, You'll Need To:

• Practice safe work habits.
• Have exceptional customer service skills.
• Be able to read and understand documents and drawings.
• Be competent with hand tools and have strong computer skills.
• Have a solid understanding of technology-based services, products, and networking.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stoop, crawl, bend, squat, and lift up to 75 lbs (including body weight, equipment, and tools).
• Ability to stand for extended periods on various surfaces.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders exceeding 18 feet and work at elevations.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces (attics, crawl spaces, utility holes).

Job Overview:

• Employment Type: Full-time, 40+ hours with potential overtime
• Starting Wage: Minimum $25.65 per hour
• Required Travel: Daily travel to customer homes; company vehicle provided with home garaging.
• Working Conditions: Indoors and outdoors at customer locations.
• Work Shift: Wednesday through Saturday, 10-hour shifts with occasional overtime.
• Benefits: Comprehensive insurance with minimal cost sharing and a 401k plan with 8% employer contribution.
• Paid Time Off: Begin earning 5.85 hours per pay period immediately. By your third year, earn 24 days annually, plus paid holidays.
