Our portfolio also includes Woodside, The Falcon, and the Little Hawk Putting Course, providing a diverse range of golf and recreational experiences.
About the Role:
The Kitchen Staff / Utility position is essential to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment that supports the culinary team in delivering high-quality food service. This role focuses on assisting with food preparation, cleaning kitchen equipment, and ensuring all health and safety standards are met consistently. The individual will play a key part in the smooth operation of the kitchen by managing inventory, handling waste disposal, and supporting cooks and chefs. Attention to detail and a proactive approach are critical to prevent disruptions and maintain a hygienic workspace.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, withstand hot/humid environment with a positive attitude, and perform other physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment.
- Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks.
- Clean and sanitize dishes, kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling processes to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Support chefs and cooks by organizing ingredients and kitchen tools to ensure efficient workflow.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or damaged items to the kitchen supervisor.
- Operate kitchen machinery and equipment safely and report any malfunctions promptly.
- Follow all food safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a hygienic and safe workplace.
Skills:
The required skills of diligence and physical stamina are vital to ensure both efficiency and safety in the kitchen, supporting the overall food preparation process. Knowledge of sanitation standards helps maintain a clean environment, preventing contamination and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Preferred skills like prior kitchen experience and food safety certification enhance the ability to anticipate kitchen needs and contribute proactively to the team. Communication skills facilitate smooth coordination with chefs and other staff, improving workflow and problem-solving. Flexibility and teamwork are essential to adapt to the dynamic kitchen environment and meet the demands of busy service periods.
