Job Title: Senior Accountant (Contract – Potential Temp-to-Perm)

Duration: 3+ Months (Opportunity for permanent hire)
Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our client’s team on a contract basis, with the potential to transition into a full-time role for the right candidate. This individual will play a critical role in managing daily cash operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting intercompany accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cash reconciliations , including coordination with centralized cash sweep activities
• Manage customer cash application , ensuring timely and accurate posting of payments
• Oversee divisional invoicing , maintaining accuracy and adherence to internal controls
• Conduct intercompany reconciliations , resolving discrepancies and ensuring proper balances across entities
• Collaborate with internal teams to support month-end close processes
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level role
• Strong experience with cash reconciliations , AR/cash application , and intercompany accounting
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience preferred)
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CPA-track preferred
• Experience in multi-entity or corporate accounting environments
• Prior experience in a contract or project-based role is a plus
