- Substitutes should be prepared for an active day that may include:
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds when needed.
- Moving between floor-level and standing positions frequently.
- Strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and professionalism are essential.

As a substitute teacher, you’ll have opportunities to assist or lead in curriculum implementation, daily routines, relationship-building, and the overall rhythm of each classroom you support. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of teaching styles and settings, build strong professional relationships, and develop confidence working with young children. Our substitutes are trusted partners in each classroom, and we make sure you have the tools, training, and encouragement you need to succeed. What You Can Expect
- Work with children ages 0–5.

- AA degree in progress with completion expected within one year, or 18 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, Social Work, Human Services, Elementary Education, Special Education or Family or Youth Studies.
● CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
● Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various sites.
