Join our company and be part of an innovative team that's First in Food** _._ **Location Description** Michael Foods, Inc., located in Bloomfield, Nebraska, is one of our only cage free facilities. The facility is located three miles outside of Northeast Nebraska's busiest community. Bloomfield is a haven for those who prefer small-town life over city living and is located less than 30 miles from recreation areas where you can enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking and camping. Our location produces liquid egg product that is sent to our other facilities for further processing. **Responsibilities** **JOB SUMMARY** **:** This position supervises and coordinates all activities associated with byproducts sales, handling and spreading. The position is responsible for the supervision of personnel involved with these activities as well as maintenance staff direction when needed. This position has the responsibility to comply with safe work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to the sanitation process, are followed to comply with FSIS regulations as well as maintaining a high standard of food safety and quality. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** **:** 1. Provides a safe work environment for all personnel. 2. Completion of all safety audits, scans & inspections. 3. Responsible for the general safety of your employees. 4. Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. 5. Involved in SRMP (Safety& Risk Management Process) 6. Educates customers on the proper application rates and handles their questions and concerns. 7. Responsible for the sales and A/R for the By-Products Department. 8. Responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of equipment. 9. Supervises employees by scheduling work, evaluating performance and making hiring and termination recommendations. 10. Responsible for a safe work environment and proactively find solutions. 11. Generate operation and environmental compliance reports. 12. Develop and/or maintain an operation that actively promotes the highest possible level of equipment, environmental and employee safety. 13. Develop and/or maintain the programs necessary to ensure all employees are properly trained in order to meet company objectives relating to product safety, human relations and professional development. 14. Supervise employees within the parameters of company policies relating to work rules, absenteeism, discipline, payroll, hiring, performance reviews, and termination, while maintaining proper documentation. 15. Be familiar with all regulations affecting proper placement of raw manure. 16. Responsible for efficient operation of Manure Department. 17. Perform other work-related duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **JOB QUALIFICATIONS** **:** **Education:** Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. **Experience** : **Language Skills:** Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization. **Mathematical Skills:** Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. **Reasoning Ability:** Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. **Licenses, certificates, registrations:** **Other skills and abilities** : 1. Knowledge of: 1. Fertilizer and Agronomy 2. Environmental Regulations and Manure Application Procedures 3. Truck and equipment repair 4. DOT Regulations 2. Computer experience preferred. 3. Able to train and motivate department personnel. 4. Coordinate and supervise department functions (i.e. department meetings, local farm ops meetings, safety trainings, etc.). 5. Able to supervise department personnel in a fair and consistent manner. 6. Must be able to work overtime or weekends when required. 7. Be able to recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve. 8. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and teaming skills. The pay range for this position is $70,048 - $103,671 per year.
