Staff Accountant

Kforce has a client in Holland, MI that is seeking a Staff Accountant. Summary: The Staff Accountant/AR Specialist plays a critical role in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial operations related to cash management, ACH and credit card transactions, customer refunds, and account reconciliations across 2 business units. This position ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of branch cash reconciliations, processes refund and supports monthly close activities. Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and verify daily branch cash reconciliations for the 2 Business Units
• Review and reconcile branch daily cash deposits to bank reports (BMO & JPM)
• Retrieve and distribute ACH files and return notices; collaborate with AR and customer service teams for prompt resolution
• Act as support contact for cash and credit card related inquiries from other business units
• Process COD and ACH Check refunds by analyzing customer credits and determining the proper refund method (credit memo, AP-issued check, or CC refund)
• Upload On Customers Accounts refunds using the ERP Business Central (BC) Configuration Packages
• Reconcile and process weekly credit card refunds across business units
• Run and distribute financial reports from the ERP and banking platforms (Insite, BMO, AR Aging, CC Settlement, Bank Statements)
• Prepare journal entries, complete month-end reconciliations for the AR and Credit receivable GL Accounts
• Support year-end audit processes by compiling documentation and answering audit queries
• 2-4 years of accounting, treasury, or AR-related experience
• Strong understanding of ACH, credit card transactions, and customer account management
• Experience with Accounting ERP systems and Banking web platforms
• Proficient in Excel and report generation from multiple financial systems
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing time-sensitive tasks across multiple business units
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate across departments and locations
